Mikala Thøger
Mikala Thøger is a Board Member of the Danish educational association Democracy in Europe (DEO). DEO is closely connected to Junibevægelsen (June Movement), and works to promote public debate on EU. DEO seeks to go beyond the traditional gap between the pro/anti dichotomy in EU debates.
She is currently working on the following projects for DEO:
- Arranging Summer Camp 2008 in Copenhagen.
- Lectures for school children on the distribution of power between the EU and the Folketinget (the Danish Parliament).
- Lectures for high-school students concerning the EU, its place in the international system and its foreign policy.
Mikala Thøger holds a Master's Degree in International Development and Educational Studies from the University of Roskilde. She specialised in educational structures and culture, and development through education.
Thøger is an experienced student politician, and former Executive Chairwoman of the National Danish Students Union, Member of the University Senate, and has been active in several European University Networks.
